Anyone Can Become a Web Designer

Cape Cod Web Design

With over 180,000,000 live websites online, it would seem web designers have got a hefty job on their hands. The truth is though, not all websites are the creative output of professional web designers. Instead many websites are built by people who enjoy web design as a hobby or even individuals who are learning about Cape Cod Web Design  as they go. Being able to design your own website is a great way to save money and couldn't be easier as long as you know the basics.

The first port of call when designing a website is to create a 'URL map'. A URL map is a basic document that allows you to clearly observe how many pages your website consists of and the purpose behind each page. Taking the time to create a URL map allows you to work out how many pages you have to design and may be of use if you want to run a theme throughout each page such as a gradient of colours, different graphics and pictures.

Once you know how big the task of designing your website is going to be, you can start developing rough ideas about what you want the website to look like. If you are designing the website for someone else this is a great opportunity to speak to them about what they intend the website to look like. The client may already have a theme in mind. For example, if the client runs a flower shop the logical progression would be something flower based, perhaps with lots of images and bright colours. Gathering together images and ideas for an 'inspiration board' will help focus and refine initial ideas for the website.

Now that you've got your ideas together it's time to start developing. If the website is a personal project, you can tweak and refine as you go. If the website is for someone else however it might take two or three attempts before the client is happy with the finished result. Software packages such as Adobe Photoshop, Web Studio 5.0, Web Plus and Web Easy Professional are ideal starter packages for the first time Cape Cod Web Designv . There's nothing better than throwing yourself in at the deep end to get a real taste of web design and whether a piece of software is right for you.
